Waggin' Wagon Privacy Policy
Waggin' Wagon ("we", "us") operates a mobile app and backend services that let our grooming and field-trip clients book appointments, see photos of their dogs on trips, and message us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it.
1. Information we collect
Account and contact information
- Email address, first and last name, phone number.
- Street address, city, state, and ZIP code (used for pickup and invoicing).
- Your dog's name, breed, coupon code, and any notes you add about allergies, anxiety, medications, or other care instructions.
- Photos you upload of your dog.
Service content
- Messages you send through the app's in-app chat with our staff.
- Photos and videos our staff take of your dog on field trips (shared back to you in the app feed).
- Appointment history and invoice records associated with your email address (stored in our scheduling and payment systems — see §3).
Automatically collected
- Push notification device token — when you allow push notifications, Apple gives the app a device token which we store so we can send you reminders, photos, and messages.
- Usage analytics — the app records page views and actions (e.g., "liked a photo", "started a booking") along with your email address, so we can see which features are used and diagnose problems. Analytics events are retained for up to 14 days.
- Last login timestamp.
Stored only on your device
- Your email, name, and current role — cached so you don't have to sign in every time.
- A backend API key — stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted).
- A local
crash.logfile that records errors when the app crashes. It is not automatically uploaded; we only see its contents if you share it with us when asking for support.
2. How we use the information
- To operate your account and deliver the service (bookings, messages, photo feed, reminders).
- To send push notifications you've opted into: appointment reminders, new photo alerts, messages, and — if enabled — promotions. You can toggle any of these off at any time under Account → Notifications.
- To process payments and invoices.
- For internal product analytics and troubleshooting.
- To contact you about your account or safety-relevant changes.
We do not sell your information, share it with data brokers, or use it for cross-app or cross-site advertising. We don't run any third-party ad SDKs in the app.
3. Who we share information with
We use the following service providers to run the business. Each sees only the data needed to do its job:
- Microsoft Azure — hosting our backend and storing your profile, photos, and messages in Azure Blob Storage (US region).
- Acuity Scheduling — appointment booking. Receives your email, name, phone, and dog name.
- Stripe — payment processing and invoicing. Receives your email, name, phone, address, and the amount charged. We never see your card number — Stripe handles it directly.
- Microsoft 365 (Graph API) — transactional emails (verification, appointment confirmations).
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers push notifications to your iPhone.
We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety of people or animals.
4. How long we keep it
- Profile information: as long as your account is active, plus a short period after, unless you request deletion.
- Photos and videos in the feed: kept until you or we delete the post.
- Messages: kept until deleted.
- Analytics events: up to 14 days.
- Device tokens: until you disable notifications, log out, or uninstall.
- Local cached data: cleared when you log out or uninstall the app.
5. Your choices
- Access and correct your profile at any time in the app under Account.
- Toggle push notifications by category (photos, reminders, promotions, messages) under Account → Notifications, or disable them entirely in iOS Settings.
- Delete your account by emailing amanda@officialwagginwagon.com. We'll delete your profile, photos you uploaded, messages, and device tokens within 30 days, and purge analytics events on their normal 14-day cycle. Records we're required to keep for tax or legal purposes (e.g., Stripe payment records) may persist in those systems per their own retention rules.
- Withdraw consent for marketing pushes at any time using the in-app toggles.
6. Children
Waggin' Wagon is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
7. Security
The app uses HTTPS for all backend communication. Sensitive tokens are stored in iOS Keychain. Our backend runs on Microsoft Azure with access-controlled keys. No service is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach affecting you, we'll notify you as required by law.
8. International users
We operate in the United States and our data is stored in US-region Azure data centers. If you use the app from outside the US, you're consenting to your information being processed in the US.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
